ABSTRACT
NGASRUL AUSATH 2006. The Study on Food Habits to fish catching of Belat on Mangrove Ecosytem Muara Badak and Muara Jawa Coastal Area, Kutai Kartanegara Regency. (Supervised by Abdunnur and M.Syahrir. R).
The research was conducted from March until June 2006, to know the type of food and main food composition eaten by fish using belat at mangrove ecosystem in the coastal area of Muara Badak and Muara Jawa with each location have four stations sampling. For learn the study on food habits to fish catching of belat, so researcher use the food material which is there are in stomach of fish which caught with belat mentioned as parameter. Analyse the data conducted by using Index Of Preponderance representing merger between method of Volumetric and method of Occurrence Frequency.
Result of analysis the data of food type eaten a fish catching of belat in Muara Badak consisted of the : prawn pape as much 55%, flesh fibre and rest of skin as much 7%, serasah and rest of plastic as much 37%, small fish as much 1%. Food type eaten a fish catching of belat in Muara Jawa that is prawn pape as much 34%, flesh fibre and rest of skin as much 30%, serasah and rest of plastic as much 7%, small fish as much 7%, small crab as much 3%, and also mud as much 19%.
